May 6, 2012: The Robots by Kraftwerk.

Kraftwerk is a legendary electronic krautrock band from Germany.┬áThe signature Kraftwerk sound combines driving, repetitive rhythms with catchy melodies, and a minimalistic and strictly electronic instrumentation. The vocals are at times sung through a vocoder or generated by computer-speech software. Kraftwerk were one of the first groups to popularize electronic music and are considered pioneers in the field. Here is “The Robots” off their 1978 release┬áThe Man-Machine.

April 18, 2012: Hallogallo by Neu!

Neu! was a German band formed by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother after their split from Kraftwerk in the early 1970s. Though the band had minimal commercial success during its existence, Neu! are retrospectively considered one of the founding fathers of Krautrock and a significant influence on artists including David Bowie, Brian Eno, Radiohead, and much of the current electronic music scene. “Hallogallo” is the opening track from their 1972 self-titled debut.
